Online Course on Urban Drainage and Sewerage

The general objective of the Urban Drainage and Sewerage course is to provide an understanding of the basic principles and knowledge for the planning, design and construction of urban drainage and sewerage systems. The course is structured under 7 topics: introduction to urban drainage and types of sewerage systems, urban hydrology and hydraulics, dry and wet weather flow characterization, data collection and processing, design and modelling of urban drainage systems, advanced topics in urban drainage, case studies.

Development, Disasters and Sanitation (WEDC Online Course)

This professional development course has been designed for those new to working in development or disaster relief.
The course is delivered using a variety of media including slide presentations, film clips, animations, photography and graphics supported by selected online publications.
Unit 1 explores important background issues surrounding development, disaster relief and poverty that will provide a foundation for the understanding of more detailed subjects such as the provision of water and sanitation.
Unit 2 specifically examines the principles of excreta disposal.

Soon, a course in 'Sociology and sanitation' at Hindi varsity at Wardha

Wardha, Feb 23, 2013: Responding to the call of Sulabh sanitation movement's founder Bindeshwar Pathak, Wardha-based Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGIHU) is introducing 'Sociology and Sanitation' in their curriculum. "It will be taught to sociology students from the next academic year commencing in June," vice-chancellor Vibhuti Narain Rai told TOI.

Oct. 18, 2012: The Sanitation Marketing (SanMark) Community of Practice  is a WASH Reference Group initiative supported by the AusAID Innovations Fund and managed by WaterAid Australia.


The WASH Reference Group is an Australian-based Community of Practice comprising 25 organisations working on water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in developing countries, including NGOs, research organisations and the Australian water industry.
